So Elder Princess Shroob being in BiS would seem like an inconsistency if you believed she died in PiT
Actually, if we look at it that way, that Alpha Dream honestly believes these villains to be dead… was the shroob boss fight honestly their way of saying “oh PiT didn’t happen in this universe” and its the reason why they added Princess Shroob into the freezer in the remake? Because whatever plans they had for her was ditched in favor for remakes?
As I type this whole hypothetical out, one question just creeps up on me
Why? What reason would they have to hint that PiT never happened in BiS? Does every game take place in its own reality? Is PiT its own separate canon? Did anyone ask AD why the shroobs were frozen in Bowser’s Basement? Does Dream Team take place in its own reality and that’s actually Fawful in the Dreemkeeper bodysuit? Wait, doesn’t Kylie Koopa remember the Mario bros.

I know saying “oh its a mistranslation” or “its a movie thing” sounds like haphazardly waving away “lore” but the truth of the matter, it IS a perfect time loop. I doubt Alpha Dream would give a half ass explanation for how this takes place in an alternate timeline where the babies DID need their help… thinks about antasma’s backstory… alright well, it IS possible they half assed it.
However! This is a perfect loop and I’ll prove this by addressing 2 points!
They did not know how it would happen cause they were babies when it first occurred to them. Neither Mario nor Luigi would be able to recall traveling through time with their older bros. And if they did, they wouldn’t be able to recall it was CAUSE of time travel that aall of this happened, cause they weren’t there, as babies, when the event occured!
Peach wouldn’t recall time traveling either as she was more of an infant than the bros were (as evident by her not being to stand while the bros could walk) and barely spent ANY time in the past when the Shroobs invaded
The only person who would know was Toadsworth and how was he when Peach time travelled?
2. Peach should know she shouldn’t travel to the past
I’ll admit, Peach should’ve been informed not to time travel to the past. A warning about events she would have no memory of. She should know to be careful with the time travel machine, right?
Unfortunately she was overcome with joy, eager to try out this new invention. In fact the wording here is the kind of wording you’d use when describing someone who made a grave mistake. And of course she did, the game just showed the past getting overrun by Shroobs and Peach is on her way to that time!
So we got a trio of fellas with no real memory of what exactly cause the events of the past to play out, or how they survived exactly but mostly got recounted by Toadsworth, Peach with no memory of this at all, Egadd not realizing it was his invention that cause and like nobody else in the mushroom kingdom talking about remembering this event.
In fact, why does Toadsworth not seem to find this moment familiar? I’m not talking about the time travel, I’m talking Aliens invading the mushroom kingdom. It seems the ol’ coot might’ve forgotten, oh no. Surely the oldest member who suffered the event would’ve tried to prevent Peach from traveling to the past, right?
If it doesn’t make sense for the babies to grow up and allow the events that transpired to occur again. Then, in the hypothetical where PiT hadn’t happened and they suffered through that without time travel shenanigans, how does how it make sense for the adult who would’ve remembered all of this more clearly to let the princess to travel to the past where it all happened?
In fact, if this isn’t a time loop, or even a perfect one at that, how do you explain Mario and Luigi going through all of that and barely affecting anything? Like just 1 thing, and nothing else?
What, are we just gonna chalk that up to bad writting? I suppose you’ll be okay if we chalk up Starlow claiming Mario defeated the Shroobs as babies with no time traveling as an inconsistency brought about by bad writting too then?
